We are delighted to welcome our youngest guests and offer special programs for children, teens, and families. Parents and adult chaperones are responsible for the behavior of the minors in their care throughout the entire visit.
Photography and filming are only permitted for private use and non-commercial purposes, without a flash or accessories such as tripods or selfie sticks, as long as the safety of the artworks is not compromised. Please take notice of any no photography signs on individual artworks.
Photography is permitted for research or journalism with an accreditation
Licensed Vienna tourist guides are permitted to conduct tours of the Heidi Horten Collection. No accreditation is necessary. Please present your ID to the Box Office and you can enter free of charge (even without a group). We can also provide additional materials to help prepare for your tour.
You are not permitted to enter the exhibition halls with outerwear or bulky items (such as umbrellas, backpacks, travel bags, sports bags, and large handbags). Free lockers are available for storage during opening hours. We are unable to store suitcases.

The gift certificates can be redeemed in the online shop and at the museum for admission tickets, educational programs, or shop products. The gift certificates are sent immediately via email for printing.

Exhibits must not be touched or otherwise disturbed. Out of consideration for other visitors, please do not use your cell phone or speak loudly in the exhibition halls. Smoking is prohibited. Bringing food into the exhibition halls or consuming it there is not permitted.
Seating is available in the exhibition spaces so you can experience and observe the artworks in comfort. During your visit, you can also borrow a folding chair from the Box Office.
The “tea-room”, which takes its inspiration from courtly reception rooms, is a very special location within the museum. The ensemble of two small rooms invites visitors to take a seat and immerse themselves in a “miniature replica” of Heidi Goëss-Horten’s world. The Salzburg artist Markus Schinwald was commissioned with the room’s artistic design. Hans Kupelwieser designed a red velvet relief for the ceiling. More about the Tea Room...
